Madang and Time with the Yates
We just returned from a great time in Madang. We got to spend lots of time with the FIVE other missionary families currently living there, and we also welcomed our pastor, Smedly, and his wife, Janet, for a visit. It was a full and fun and encouraging time with so many brothers and sisters in Christ. We feel refreshed and ready for another stint in the village! Here is a highlight reel in pictures:

Our new best friend Johnathan (who is he? See this blog: here) had to leave to go back to his life in the states, but not before giving us all Christmas gifts. (You might also be able to see how Ellie feels about him):

As soon as the Yates landed in Madang, they were all-in. They played lots of games with each of the kids:

Janet got to join us at a princess birthday party for our friend's daughter:

We made Christmas cookies...

...and gingerbread houses with the Twomblys:

Bryan took Zach and Smedly fishing:

A supporter gave us money for Christmas which we spent on a day at a hotel pool (of course, we invited all our friends!):

Time at the beach (Jais Aben):

Finding sea horses:

And jumping into the water at the rocks outside the base:

We had so many good conversations with our friends in Madang and with the Yates. We were spurred on in the work here, updated about our church and friends in AZ, given advice on our parenting and home life... and we just also enjoyed each other! We are thankful for our time with everyone. AND... it is sweet to be back home in Mawerero!
